Casa M is housed within a stately 1929 building near Plaza Cardona in Barcelona.
Located on the ground floor in a densely built urban fabric, the project strategically enhances natural light intake. The nearly four-meter-high ceilings are fully utilized, with expansive windows introduced in the living area and the street-facing bedroom, while new openings along the corridor mitigate its limited daylight conditions.
The design capitalizes on the residence’s multiple outdoor connections. Vegetation becomes a defining element, recurring across each exterior threshold and establishing a continuous green sequence with the inner courtyard garden as a backdrop. This spatial narrative links the entrance patio at street level with the intermediate lightwell and ultimately
the communal garden, weaving together architecture and
landscape in a coherent progression.
