Figueras’ International Seating Design Center is located in one of the brand’s production warehouses. In this way, there is a tangible bond between the design and manufacturing processes of a product. In the same facilities, in an adjacent building, one can locate the headquarters of the company.
Being located within the manufacturing warehouses, the Design Centre’s concept is to preserve the physiognomy of the space and the insertion of a non-invasive new program module.
This way, the project preserves: the pillared and metal trusses structure, roof skylights, window openings and the concrete floor. On the other hand, it creates a new matte white metal structure formed by a composite metal deck slab and pinewood paneling. The lower floor houses: the showroom -historic and contemporary designs- a meeting room, a photography studio, modeling workshop , open office area and bathrooms. On the top floor there is an open space office layout hosting the design spaces.
